RSVP Program
Mission Statement:
It is the mission of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Dutchess County to provide a variety of opportunities for adults age 55 and older to utilize their time and their talents to engage in service activities that will assist in meeting the needs of the community and the residents of Dutchess County.
What is RSVP?
The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Dutchess County is a nonprofit agency that promotes volunteering by offering citizens age 55 and older, the opportunity to meet a variety of community needs through volunteer service. RSVP is funded by a federal grant from the Corporation of National and Community Service and is sponsored locally by Dutchess County Community Action Partnership (DCCAP).
What do RSVP Volunteers do?
Volunteers serve in nonprofit and community agencies, governmental agencies, faith based organizations, and health-care facilities, providing help to individuals in need.
Assignments include:

Mentoring and tutoring children and adults

Helping in area hospitals, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes

Assist in meal preparation and distribution to the homebound

Assist in the distribution of food in food pantries, food closets, and soup kitchens

Assist in local museums, historical sites, and theatres

Work in area thrift shops
