Drivers age 55+ to help deliver meals to seniors throughout Dutchess County. Meals are delivered from Friendship Centers in Beacon, East Fishkill, Hyde Park, Poughkeepsie, Red Hook, and Wappingers Falls.

Hudson Valley Long Term Care (LTC) Ombudsman Program, various sites

Volunteers needed who can contribute approximately 2 – 4 hours per week to help identify and resolve the concerns of residents living in local Nursing Homes.

Literacy Connections, various places

Tutors for Adult Basic Reading or English as a Second Language students.

Paws for a Cause Thrift Shoppe, Hyde Park

Cashiers and stockers are needed to help at the thrift shop, located 1 block south of the DC SPCA.

Volunteers for Donation Processing, Customer Assistance & Cashier

Delivery Associate to help load and unload donations from pickup truck**

Friendly Visitor to provide friendly conversation and comfort items
Out-Patient Registration: Welcome and Assist patients in the registration process

Pet Therapy: Volunteers, along with their qualified dog, engage with patients and staff.

Non-Patient Care Volunteers:

Administration and Clerical support in various departments
Gift Shop customer service rep (cashier, sales assistance, stock shelves customer service)

Hudson Valley Hospice,  Poughkeepsie

Patient Care Volunteers to provide comfort, support, and companionship to patients and their families. Special training provided.
Administrative Volunteers to assist with administrative support in the office, at community education and fund-raising events, and helping to recruit other volunteers.
Couriers to deliver needed supplies to homebound patients.

 VA Hudson Valley Healthcare System (Castle Point), Wappingers Falls

Drivers are needed to pick up Veterans from their homes and bring them to Castle Point for their scheduled doctor appointments.

Alzheimer's Association, Hudson Valley

There are various opportunities for virtual positions available such as Community Representative, Community Educator as well as in-person positions such as Support Group Facilitator and Support Group Mentor.

American Red Cross in the Hudson Valley

Volunteers to assist at Blood Drives, to take temperatures of donors entering, and help with registration. There are virtual opportunities to volunteer as well, working with veterans and military families as a caseworker providing resources and support.
