Emergency Fuel: Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) and Energy Crisis Intervention Program (ECIP) can help low-income families with temporary emergency fuel, regardless of the type of heating you use to heat your home. Energy Fuel After Hour Hotline: If you need emergency fuel after 4 pm, please call 845-437-0050. You will be asked what part of Dutchess County you live in and they will provide you with the nearest gas station that distributes fuel. Operators will inform you of the documentation to bring. Energy Savings: Our Weatherization program helps homeowners and tenants in Multi-Unit housing get the services they need to help minimize the cost of energy and help save you money. Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC): Community Action Partnership for Dutchess County is a member of the Hudson Valley CASH Coalition and partners with the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program. Volunteer tax preparers are available at our Family Development Centers as well as several additional locations throughout the Hudson Valley to assist low to moderate-income people file their tax returns.
During the filing season, this free service is available by appointment only. Appointments can be made by calling the United Way’s information and referral line, 211. A call specialist will review program eligibility, make an appointment and review the required documents.
