Community Action Partnership for Dutchess County (CAPDC) is a community-based organization designated as the anti-poverty agency for Dutchess County. CAPDC operates 4 family development centers in Poughkeepsie, Wappingers Falls, Dover Plains, and Red Hook. Wrap around services are provided from a family development strength-based approach as we partner with families to identify their path from crisis to opportunity. CAPDC provides supportive services that address the needs of low-income seniors and families including
• housing,
• food and nutrition
• employment preparation and attire
• emergency heat and weatherization
• prescription assistance
• benefit screening and application assistance
• case management and benefit screening
• additional emergency financial assistance.
CAPDC also sponsors Dress for Success Dutchess County, an employment support program for women throughout the Hudson Valley and the Hudson Valley CASH Coalition which offers free tax preparation assistance to those in need during tax filing season.
Event proceeds will directly support families, seniors and individuals with emergency assistance, food, employment support, emergency car repairs, prescription assistance, and housing. Our solemn mission is to partner with individuals and families to eliminate poverty and identify resources and opportunities available to them to enhance their self-sufficiency.
